Meet Our Coaching Staff!
Eric Switzer is joining the Killer Whales for his first season as head coach. Eric is a certified USA triathalon coach. He believes that placing an emphasis on improving stroke technique will help each swimmer maximize their potential and meet their own personal goals. Eric's goal is for each swimmer is to have fun, increase endurance and to be good sportsman.
Assistant Head Coach Kristen Wallace joins the KWST coaching staff having previously coached the Hollymead Hammerheads from 2009-2011. She graduated from UVA in May 2010 with a masters degree in education. During her four years at UVA, Kristen was a member of the swim team and co-captain her fourth year, leading the Hoos to the ACC team title and a 12th place finish at the 2009 NCAA Division 1 Championships. Kristen earned numerous All-ACC and NCAA All-American honors during her career and is a member of three UVA record-holding relays. She is an elementary physical education teacher at St. Anne's-Belfield School and an assistant coach for the STAB swim team and Piedmont Family YMCA swim team, CYAC.
Assistants
Colin Mooney will graduate this spring from Monticello High School and will serve as a full time assistant coach for the Killer Whales. Colin has been swimming with the Killer Whales for five seasons and has also served as a lifeguard for the past three summers. Colin also swims and dives for the Monticello Mustangs!
Maddy Cohen will graduate this spring from Monticello as well. Maddy has swum with the Killer Whales since she was five years old and has lifeguarded since she was 15.
