Is My Child Ready?
Generally speaking, swim team is not a swimming lesson program or a babysitting service. If your child does not know how to swim, or cannot swim very far, please ask about signing him/her up for some of the Killer Whales' quality swimming lessons. Children must be 5 years of age to join the swim team. Children ages 8 and under should be able to swim about 10 yards on their own (and will be required to independently swim 25 yards of freestyle before being entered in a meet). PLEASE NOTE: Your child does NOT have to be able to swim a full length of the pool to be on the swim team!!!! All other ages should be able to independently swim at least 25 yards of freestyle. If you are unsure what your child's swimming skills are, Coach Robyn will be happy to do an evaluation! Evaluations will be conducted from 3-4PM on registration day, May 8th.
